COURSE DETAIL

Most people imagine that Leadership is about having a high-powered job title. It isn’t. It’s about your character and the type of person you prove to be, especially under pressure.

By attending this workshop you’ll gain a full understanding of the meaning of leadership and the ways in which you can develop as a leader. As human beings each of us has the potential to lead, although many fail to recognise this and put it into practice. This workshop will show you how to build on your unique personal strengths. You’ll gain in confidence and your ability to work positively and imaginatively with others will be greatly enhanced. Best of all, whatever your age, ambitions or walk of life, you will be able to apply your new-found skills to any circumstances in which you may find yourself.

At the end of the workshop you will:

  • Recognise contemporary world problems.
  • Understand what it means to be a leader.
  • Learn you how can develop as a leader.
  • Discover your unique gifts.
  • Learn how you can use your gifts to lead and make a step to bring about change.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

An open mind.

ABOUT YOUR TUTOR

John Zavuga is a Community Learning Champion and the founder of Haringey Stars, a youth-focussed Company based in Haringey which works with local young people, helping them develop positive leadership and career skills within their interest areas. John Zavuga is also an NHS sexual health team member working with Black Africans in the London boroughs of Camden and Islington.

Himself the successful beneficiary of a positive leadership programme, John is keen to share the knowledge and skills that he has received with others.

Says John: “My life is divided into two eras:  before and after attending the Leadership program. The programme awakened my self-belief.  I now have the inner strength and the capacity to be a leader and make a difference in people’s lives. Before the programme, I knew that leadership was a preserve of the privileged few.’’

WHO CAN ATTEND?

A wide range of people may potentially benefit from this course:

  • Those who are economically inactive, such as stay-at-home parents, unemployed and retired people.
  • It may be that you’re a graduate and you are not sure of where you want to be in ten years’ time. You may be established in your career but still feel dissatisfied.
